Arkham City was written by veteran comic book author Paul Dini , who also wrote Arkham Asylum . It features a main plot and side-missions that develop sub-plots. The main plot revolves around the imprisonment of Bruce Wayne (aka Batman) in Arkham City, a large, new super-prison five times bigger than the original asylum including a wide variety of industrial districts, iconic locations and Gotham City landmarks . Now you must stop accidents occurring in this chaotic enclosure for the most notorious villains of Gotham. The game has received universal critical acclaim, making it one of the highest rated video games released in 2011. Metacritic placed it as the best game of 2011 beating out games like Portal 2 , Zelda Skyward Sword , The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim , Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception , Gears of War 3 , LA Noire and Killzone 3 .
In addition, he has confirmed a sequel called Batman: Arkham Knight , due out in October 2014 .
In Arkham City has an outdoor world. The game combines the styles of stealth-action and beat’em up . All the gadgets produced in Arkham Asylum, except trosometa available to players from the start.
